I just finished my run as Scratch Instructor on www.fxphd.com.  This was a 10 class course that took students from conform through some more advanced topics like grading for film outs, compositing in Scratch, etc...

I've installed my color grading / online / DI suite at Hi Ground Media, known best for it's amazing VFX work on hit TV series Medium.  Right now we're hard at work finishing our facility after our recent move, but all services are up & running, including my color suite.

All my services are now offered through Hi-Ground, and that means enhanced services like dedicated client support, technical support staff, on-site media storage/archiving, 2 Flame suites, and several extremely talented visual effects people.  Having online color & vfx under one roof is the ONLY way to go.  Once you've seen how efficient this workflow can be, you'll never want to work these services at separate facilities again.

I'm honored to currently be grading a documentary feature film featuring Sean Penn (who is also executive producer), titled Dirty Hands.

Chronicling a group of young volunteers recruited by Sean at last year's Coachella outdoor concert for a bus trip to help victims of Hurricane Katrina in any way they can, this heartfelt feature really speaks to the growing wave of community volunteerism rising in this country.

All work has been completed on Vietnamese feature film "14 Days", by visionary Vietnamese/American filmmaker Khoa Nguyn - by the way, a real pleasure to work with.

Ham Tran lent his considerable editorial talent to the film, which I conformed & graded in our Scratch suite here at Hi Ground Media in Culver City.

The digital files were shot to film at Hollywood Intermediate, audio to film at DJ Audio, with prints by Technicolor in Universal City.

It was a real pleasure to work with dedicated and visionary director Khoa Nguyen, and I'm very proud of my work - getting the most out of a linear camera during a filmout is no trivial task.
