In his role as supervising colorist at Hi-Ground, a boutique post production facility located in Culver City, California, John Tissavary has supervised and color corrected numerous prestigious projects at all budget levels, several demos of which can be seen on this site.

John Tissavary's career in film and television production & post has spanned over 20 years.

After attending film school at the prestigious San Francisco Art Institute under legendary instructor/filmmaker George Kuchar, Mr. Tissavary worked in many capacities on set, including lighting, creature special effects, and even a stint as electrician at the San Francisco Opera.

Eventually settling into digital visual effects, John founded venerable vfx boutique Luna Cie, Inc. in 1994 with Brian LaFrance.  The pair created N-Train, the first CGI dramatic short to enter the ResFest digital film festival in1996

John Tissavary operated in all capacities at Luna Cie, Inc. - supervisor, management, animator, systems - experiencing all aspects of vfx and digital post production first hand.  This experience has proved beneficial on many projects, from blockbuster feature films like The Matrix and Stealth, to indie films looking for a way to afford the previously unaffordable via ingenuity and out-of-the-box thinking.
